I spent some time tonight looking at old pictures.  They weren’t really so old, just three years ago.  July 3, 2009.  My dad looked so happy, and yet he would only be with us for a few short months longer.  I’m glad we didn’t know.  I’m glad it was sudden.  That July 3, 2009, his last July 3, he was happy and surrounded by his family. I didn’t sleep well last night, and that made waking up to another Monday morning less pleasant than usual.  I didn’t feel like getting ready for work.  I didn’t feel like going to work.  No doubt about it, I am burned out.  Where I once looked forward to my job, it has now become “work.” Continue Reading »
